Hello, Wildcats!
If there's one thing that we as college students are always on the lookout for is financial means to help pay for our studies. One of these means is a scholarship and, fortunately, there a lot of cool opportunities to apply to, with a variety of specifications. So, there will always be a scholarship that is right just for you.
Before jumping right into these amazing opportunities, I just wanted to recommend a few helpful links if you need money for college and other scholarship listings.
The first resource is, of course, our own West LA College Scholarship center. Here, you will find a bunch of links to scholarship directories, as well as getting to know West's own scholarship opportunities, such as the Osher Scholarship (applications due November 16). That's where I got most of the scholarships compiled here. As students, we need to always be on the lookout for what our school offers to us.
The second resource is a website that I discovered a few years ago when browsing the interwebs for college tips before I started at West. College Life Made Easy is an awesome website that serves as a student help center. They have articles on almost all of the facets of college life from a student's perspective, including long, comprehensive monthly scholarship opportunities.
The third resource is Scholarships360, an easy to navigate directory to open scholarships.
Another useful resource is this article from the Federal Trade Commission, which warns students to not fall for scam scholarships.
In the list below, you will scholarships for Black students, women, major-specific, and general scholarships, which community college students are eligible to apply.
Shall we start?
