Hello, fellow Wildcats!

How are you all doing this week? I hope we’re all feeling hopeful for our futures after the election results last week and excited to dive into some college opportunities and events.

Below, this newsletter is separated into four categories: important reminders, scholarship opportunities, and upcoming events (college and others).

So, let’s get to it!

Important Reminders

  • Follow us on @WLAC_ASO and get a chance to win an HP printer and a $30 bookstore gift card.

  • The Wild West is accepting students’ stories on their 2020 experience for a Student Shoutout. If you’d like to be featured here and have your story heard, send an email to wildcatsatwest@gmail.com

  • Every Friday at 6 PM, ASO is holding Mind Matters: Breath & Meditation Workshops to support you through midterms, finals, or personal problems. The best part is that it is free for all LACCD students. Check our Instagram page for the Zoom link.

UC’s and CSU’s applications are due at the end of November

If you’re planning on transferring to a public 4-year university, don’t forget that the applications to both the University of California and the California State University systems are already open. The deadline for UCs is the last day of this month, November 30th, while in the CSU system, one has until December 4th to apply. Either way, write those essays, get these applications done ASAP!

If you help with transferring, you can talk with one of our counselors at the Transfer Center, where they also offer workshops with University reps.

Receive your 1098-T electronically

For those of you who have checked your student email, you must have received a message about the LACCD partnering up with ECSI, to offer students the opportunity to receive their 1098-T forms digitally this year. If that’s an option that interests you, give ECSI your consent by January 1st, or else the form will be mailed to your address as always.

Scholarship Opportunities
